“DOF Robotics, active in immersive entertainment and simulation technologies, held the global launch of its next-generation flight experience SphereFly on the first day of IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 in London…”
DOF Robotics, active in immersive entertainment and simulation technologies, held the global launch of its next-generation flight experience SphereFly on the first day of IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 in London. Alongside strong intellectual property partnerships such as Smurfs and Transformers, the company also presented its vision for the future of the experience economy at the show with its Neo Planet brand and the NeoCappadocia project.
DOF Robotics, which operates in robotic systems, immersive education and entertainment technologies, motion simulators, game and content development, and image interpretation software, got off to a fast start at IAAPA Expo Europe 2026, held at ExCeL London on 22–24 September 2026. The company, which exports to more than 80 countries across 6 continents, held the world launch of SphereFly on the first day of the show, presenting its next-generation immersive experience technology to industry professionals.
From the first day of the show, the DOF Robotics booth drew strong interest from visitors eager to try SphereFly. Developed to deliver a high-impact flight experience in compact spaces, SphereFly combines a curved screen, a suspended seating layout and a synchronized 6-DOF motion system with multi-sensory effects such as wind, water mist and scent.
The system can be installed in an area of 90 square metres and, with a capacity of 4 to 20 guests per cycle and a throughput of more than 200 guests per hour, can be adapted to a wide range of venues, from shopping malls and family entertainment centres to tourist destinations and theme parks.
Smurfs and Transformers experiences stood out
In addition to its technology portfolio, DOF Robotics also highlighted its expanding intellectual property partnerships at the show. The Smurfs experience, which takes visitors into the world of the Smurfs as they try to escape Gargamel's clutches and return to their village, was among the most talked-about attractions at the show.
Transformers, one of the company's new IP partnerships, was also introduced for the first time at IAAPA Expo Europe. The full launch of the Transformers experience is planned for IAAPA Expo Orlando later this year.
From story to experience with DOF Studio
One of the key parts of DOF Robotics' technology and content approach is DOF Studio, which operates within the company. Bringing cinematic storytelling together with motion and simulation technologies, DOF Studio designs immersive experiences by integrating characters, stories and visual worlds with physical motion and multi-sensory effects. With this structure, the company focuses not only on developing hardware for entertainment technologies but on designing the guest experience as a whole.
A $20 million investment in Cappadocia
IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 also hosted the official launch of the NeoCappadocia project, developed by Neo Planet, DOF Robotics' experience economy brand. With this step, the company aims to go beyond technology supply and also operate in destination development and management.
Planned for a 5,000-square-metre indoor space in Avanos, NeoCappadocia will bring together a Fly Over Cappadocia themed flying theatre, a hot air balloon simulator, a themed restaurant, boutique accommodation units and live show experiences under one roof. The project, with an investment of approximately $20 million, is targeted for completion in 2027 and aims to welcome more than 500,000 visitors a year.
On the project, DOF Robotics is collaborating with Katapult, an international themed attraction design company that integrates high-impact ride systems with comprehensive destination and resort planning. Following NeoCappadocia, similar experience venues are planned in Istanbul and Antalya.
“We turn technology into experience”
Commenting on the first day of the show, DOF Robotics Chairman of the Board Mustafa Mertcan emphasized that the company has become a structure that not only develops technology but designs new experiences by combining these technologies with story and content, and said:
“IAAPA Expo Europe is an important meeting point where the future of entertainment and experience technologies takes shape. As DOF Robotics, we are not only introducing a new product on this platform; we are presenting our next-generation experience approach, where technology, content and design come together. Holding the world launch of SphereFly in London is an important milestone for us. In addition, the projects we have developed with strong IPs such as Smurfs and Transformers show our capacity to bring our technology together with stories the world knows. In the coming period, we aim to be among the key players of the global experience economy with the technologies we develop in Türkiye.”
Adding new achievements to its international successes
In addition to its new technologies and projects at IAAPA Expo 2026, DOF Robotics also stands out with its achievements on the international stage. The company also received an award for its Samsun Flying Theater project at the European Star Award 2026. The project, the first Flying Theater installation in Türkiye, was recognized on the European stage, adding another success to the company's international achievements. Mertcan said: “As DOF Robotics, we are proud to have won the 2026 European Star Award. The recognition of our Samsun Flying Theater project with this prestigious award is especially meaningful to us, as it is the first Flying Theater installation in Türkiye. Having a project we developed and brought to life in our own country appreciated on the European stage is an important milestone, showing that the steps we have taken in technology and innovation are resonating on an international scale.”
